Director: Terry George.
The plot of the film is based on the events that took place in the 90s of the last century. Two neighboring peoples, the Hutu and the Tutsi, staged a massacre. As a result of this bloody carnage, more than a hundred thousand people perished - representatives of the second tribe. Paul belongs to the first tribe and ran a hotel called Rwanda. His wife Tatiana was a Tutsi native. For a significant period of time, both peoples tried to maintain neutrality. But one night and the situation changed dramatically, and the representatives of the Hutu, because of their attitude, began a civil war.
Several thousand people from Tutsi were killed in a matter of days. The hero, in despair, watches the reprisals against his neighbors, and tries to find a way out of such a dangerous situation. Everything was complicated by the fact that he, together with his wife, acts as representatives of different tribes, which could incur the wrath of extremists on them. Fortunately, business connections and big money allowed him to hide for a while, hiding in a safe place. True, he understands that he can no longer sit out when innocent people are being deprived of their lives nearby. Risking his own life, he makes every effort to save his own people, which can end very sadly.
