Kursk

Kursk
118 crew members of a nuclear submarine called Kursk set off for the sea to conduct special combat training exercises. Relatives and friends who came to see the sailors did not realize that they were seeing them for the last time in their lives.
The exercises were supposed to begin at noon, but there was an explosion when diving under water. Later, the captain of a nearby ship would say that he heard a loud sound, and the ship shook violently. But the man did not pay much attention to this, since everyone was informed of the passing tests. But when the submarine’s command didn’t get in touch and at some time fired a signal torpedo, they became worried on the shore.
Meanwhile, in the sea, at a depth of more than a hundred meters, a desperate struggle for life unfolded. Upon learning of the incident, representatives of Britain and Norway offered help, but the Russian command responded with a polite refusal. Soon the situation got out of control and due to bad weather no one could reach the people buried alive under the water column. Those who were still alive knew perfectly well that they were in a death trap, but until the last second they believed that they would be helped and hoped for a miraculous salvation. No miracle happened.
